So I went for a stroll along Zemunski Kej yesterday, and took me camera along. Here are some of me snaps...

Belgrade HDRs

Just messing around with some freeware program (whose name I can't pronounce) and some exposure-bracketing. The result is called an HDR picture, or High Dynamic Range. The result is varied (depending on how you process the images) but the idea is to get a wider spread of exposure than is possible with a regular single-shot camera. I opted for the more extreme-looking post-production on these pictures...

The shell of a building, right next to Brankov Most

The statue of Prince Mihailo III, or the Konj (horse) as the locals call it, on Trg Republike. The building behind him is  the National Museum (Narodni Muzej), which is currently encased in scaffolding.

A sight in Kalemegdan park

A rather dramatic image of a view from the grounds inside the Belgrade Fortress.. The  statue to the right of the centre of the picture is the Pobednik monument, and the structure in the distance is Zapadna Kapija Beograda.
I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of HDR images done in this over-the-top style because they mostly look pretty fake, but they are really impressive nonetheless :)

Crows on the Fortress

So I ended up in Belgrade Fortress again (I love that place) and decided to take some snaps of the crows fighting each other for scraps of food. They were fascinating to watch, attacking one another in airplane-fighter style, soaring up and then dive-bombing each other over the edge of the fortress wall. It was also quite a workout for my neck since they were so fast, I'd give myself whiplash trying to follow them zipping past and at the same time trying to get focus with my zoom lens. Needless to say I managed to get a few decent snaps in, plus I had a curious little chap land right in front of me. Fun times :)
